I knew it...history always repeats itself......i can't beleive this...i should never have come back.... She backed away from Silver, eyes wide. "It's happening again. And I couldn't stand the pain a second time. Truly. I'd better go now." she turned to Fire. "I'd really like to get to know you , fire, and I'd love to show you "the ropes" but if you'd excuse me for a momnet."
She trotted away. Not too far, just far enough so that she didn't have to see the one who had ruined her life any more. She couldn't stand her, and if she was staying, no matter how hard i would be, she would leave.
She was sure Silver had told her that Native had committed suicide and that she wouldn't be back. At least she would have what she had wanted; a foal. Almost like she had just come to Silver for that favour, and had been accepted. BUT SHE COULD'NT BRUSH HIM AWAY!!!!!!!

(Wait what did I do now? I told Native she could stay only because Silver was raised to never turn away a mare in need! He loves Sierra and told her so!)
Silver groaned, he'd done something again. How could he! He excuse himself and rushed after Sierra, not letting her leave again.
God Sierra, please tell me what I did? I can't live if you leave again! I told Native she could stay, I mean I can't turn her away. It would destroy my grandmom to know that I did. Please, I'm sorry, look if it upsets you that bad, I can um...um...
He faltered thinking what he would do. Where would Native go? Eldorado maybe or Storm? That would work, so long as Sierra was ok with it.

"It's not your fault, Silver, and I know now it never was. If I wasn't such a moody cow and she wasn't such a self-centred slag then....well. I just can't stand her, thats all. I knoiw you can't turn her away, just please don't expect me to have to look at her, thats all."
That extertion had tired her, as so much did now. Her stomach was heavy, and she just wanted to lie down...to rest.......
Suddenly a pain like lightning coursing through her body shot accross her. She gasped, her eyes opened wide and her ears flicked back.
"I really think...I'd better...lie down.." she panted. Anothercontortion racked her body and she let a high-pitched whinny into the air.

Silver jumper in alarm at her crie. Worry took over until something kicked in. He turned calling back to Black Fire.
Fire! I need your help. Take Sierra to the foaling grounds. It's off-limits to me until the foal is bprn. Hurry!
He nuzzled Sierra quickly.
I'll be along soon m'love. I trust Fire, she'll help you don't worry!

She nodded. She couldn't talk, it was too much effort. She took a few teetering steps forward, and started to head out.

(some hours later)
Sierra was home again, and so was the newborn colt, Forest Fire, son of Silver Desire. He was at home straight away, exploring amidst the gnarled tree roots and the carpets of flowers.

Silver stepped through the trees, nuzzling Sierra and placing a rose in her mane. Beautiful he whispered before turning to watch his son. He fits right in does he not Sierra?

Black Fire followed behind. She was happy the foal was safe, and that Sierra was better. She stopped to graze and watched the foal play around.

She giggled and nuzzled him back. "Its as if he really is a forest fire, and belongs in the woods. I'm so glad we have him, Silver, I'm gald he lived. I couldn't have borne it if he'd ....gone....like Sultan." she ntoiced that Forest had come accross an old mossy stone. It interested him and he pawed at it curiously. Suddenly the moss slid off, and he stumbled. Sierra almost cried out at what their son had found. It was the gravestone of Sultan. "Come away, Forest, come over here. Don't play there." Forest looked puzzledly at her, but obeyed compliantly. He trotted over to them. He was bored. There were no other foals to play with, no one but the grumpy old horses who lived there with him. No wonder he hadn't spoken a word yet.

Black Fire watched the foal go to the gravestone. She was bored, too.

Silver walked from Sierra to Fire, nuzzling her lightly. Thank you, he whisperes softly, For being so kind about all this. I know I have been with Sierra lately, but if there is something you need, tell me ok? He watched her and smiled, hoping she too would like a foal in the future.

Fire nuzzled him back. Your welcome. she says, smiling back. And if I need anything, I'd tell you, don't worry. She flicked her tail back and forth.

Fire's ears pricked towards his father and the other mare. He watched them curiously as they nuzzled, and he squeeled in delight at his new discovery. He trotted over to Black Fire and tried to nuzzle her too, but he couldn't reach higher than her shoulder. He squeeled again and cantered back over to his mother, and hid behind her, coming accross all shy. But he lost interest and looked boredly around. He pricked his ears towards a gap in the trees, and two-beated over to the egde of the forest. The open space was a shock and he galloped as fast as his short legs could carry him back to his mother.
Sierra was content. She knew now that she would nver have what she had had, but had Fire now, and that made up for it. She decided that she would go and visit Star, for she too had foaled. It would make a change for Fire too.
She trottd over to Silver, Fire at heel.
"I thought maybe I could take himk to visit Star." she told him "It would make a change for both of us, and maybe he could befriend her foals." she kept her questioninf eye on him. She knew that it might be wise now to let him alone with Fire, for they needed the privacy they had been lack.

Silver smiled gratefully at his lead. Nodding he nudged her. Go head, I'm sure this fire ball would like it. And thank you, he whispered in her ear. Lipping her mane playfully, he watched until she disappeared before turning back to Fire. Urm..Fire, would you like a foal? I do not wish for you to be lonely or anything. He looked her over with questionable eyes, wondering what she may be thinking.

Smiling broadly, he nipped her rump, pushing her towards the lands, excited she wished for a foal.
